This August, two resolutions – H.Res. 756 and S.Res. 546—have been introduced in Congress recognizing National Adult Education & Family Literacy Week for September 10-16, 2012!

For the fourth consecutive year, Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced a resolution in the House recognizing the importance of adult education and family literacy and the need to support programs serving these individuals. The House resolution has 15 U.S. Representative cosponsors:

For the second consecutive year, Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) introduced a resolution (S.Res. 546) in the Senate also recognizing the importance of adult education and family literacy, adult learners, and the programs that serve them. The Resolution was passed by unanimous consent by the full Senate on August 2, 2012.  The Senate Resolution has 9 Senate co-sponsors:
